SINCE the Foundation’s inception in 1973, it has provided significant underwriting of Michigan State University’s intellectual property program.
The Foundation's basic directives in this area are:
- Continue to actively support and underwrite MSU’s intellectual property and patenting programs.
- Make use of the special knowledge and commercial access of the Foundation board to assist the Office of Intellectual Property in bringing Michigan State University-developed technologies to the marketplace.
- Advocate integration of all intellectual property activities through a common mission and team under the leadership of the Vice President for Research.
