SPARTAN VENTURES, LLC is Michigan State University Foundation's venture capital subsidiary. Its mission is to make strategic investments on behalf of the MSU Foundation in new enterprises originating from Michigan State University.
In this capacity, SpartanVentures will be responsible for:
- seeking out and evaluating technologies that have the potential to be platforms for entrepreneurial ventures,
- recommending investments to the MSU Foundation,
- accelerating the creation of markets for the technologies of portfolio enterprises,
- establishing strong management in these companies, and
- guiding them to the next stage of development or financing, with the objective of expediting an IPO, acquisition, or other profitable exit.
